LeeYun Bio Co., Ltd., a pharmaceutical chemistry–based functional biomaterials company co-led by CEOs Jinhee Lee and Jeongin Yoon, has been honored with the “19th Korea Outstanding Patent Award (2025).”

LeeYun Bio has been attracting attention in the functional cosmetic ingredient industry by researching functional biomaterials targeting anti-inflammatory and anti-pruritic effects. The company has developed a technology to alleviate skin itching and inflammation based on low-molecular-weight flavonoid derivatives.

This technology employs a dual mechanism that suppresses the overexpression of the PAR2 receptor and blocks the NF-κB inflammatory pathway, directly regulating the underlying causes of chronic itching. The core material features a low-molecular-weight structure of under 500 Da, enabling high skin penetration efficiency. In addition, LeeYun Bio has successfully addressed the poor solubility, instability, and high cost associated with conventional flavonoids through its proprietary synthesis technology.
